Pirshagi project
Based on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, large-scale landscaping works have been launched in the settlement of Pirshagi starting from 2021. Over the course of four years, utility works have almost been completed. Communication lines have been transferred to an underground cabling system.
In the settlement, 70 percent of roof coverings have been renewed, and the “shambo” type sewage system has been eliminated and replaced with new lines connecting the entire settlement to a centralized sewage system.
During the beautification process, special importance is attached to cooperation with local residents, and their opinions and proposals are taken into account. Engaging residents in beautification works and supporting employment remains one of the organization’s key strategies.
The “Blooming Absheron” project is also being implemented in Pirshagi. Accordingly, residents receive a certain remuneration in exchange for maintaining the plants provided to them in their private household plots.
Improving the living conditions of the families of martyrs and war veterans remains a constant priority.
The restoration of historically significant monuments in the settlement of Pirshagi is carried out under the supervision of specialists. The 19th-century “Sand Bath” is being restored, the settlement cemetery surrounding “Tataz Pir,” one of the ancient shrines, is being improved and cleaned daily, and the 16th-century mosque has already been fully restored and reopened for worship.
At the initiative of the Baku Maintenance Service, vineyards have been established in Pirshagi. The main purpose of the project is to preserve and revive ancient grape varieties native to this region that are gradually being forgotten.
After the completion of facade works and the construction of pedestrian sidewalks, the next stage will involve the commencement of greening activities.
